Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 9, 2026
This policy explains what the Streetfinch iPhone app, the Streetfinch service that runs its checks, and this website do with information. Streetfinch is made by Serious Business (“we”, “us”).
The short version
- There is no account and no sign-in. We do not receive your name, email address or Apple ID through the app.
- Your saved checks, tracked phrases, reports and settings are stored on your iPhone.
- To run a check, the app sends the business details, the search phrases and the check settings to the Streetfinch service.
- Your device’s own location is used only on your iPhone, only if you choose the nearby option, and it is not stored on our servers.
- The app contains no advertising, no third-party analytics and no tracking software. We do not sell personal data.
- This website uses no cookies. It uses Abner, a cookieless analytics tool, to count page views.
No account, but an anonymous installation
When you first use the app, it registers an anonymous installation with the Streetfinch service. To make sure the request comes from a genuine copy of Streetfinch on a genuine Apple device, the app uses Apple’s App Attest service, and it checks your App Store purchase record with Apple using the App Store app transaction. We store an installation identifier and an App Store transaction identifier. We use them to hold your credit balance and to restore your purchases. They are not linked to your name, email address or Apple ID, because we never receive those.
What stays on your iPhone
The app stores these on your device:
- The checks you save, with the business name, address and map position.
- The search phrases you track and the results of each check.
- Your reports and your settings.
- An optional logo for your reports, if you add one. Reports are created on your device and leave it only when you share them.
- The credential that identifies your installation, kept in the iOS Keychain.
Backups are files that you choose to save and that you control. There is no cloud sync, so we never hold a copy of your backup.
What the app sends to our server
- The name, address or coordinates, and Google listing identifiers of the business being checked.
- The search phrases you check.
- The check settings, such as the area and the number of search locations.
- Purchase transactions, so we can verify them with Apple and add your credits.
- For competitor insights, the listing identifier or website domain of the business you are viewing.
What we send onward
A search data provider. To fetch public Google Maps results and public listing details, we send the search phrase, the coordinates and the listing identifiers to a search data provider. It does not receive your installation identifier or your transaction identifier.
An AI model for the action plan. If you ask for an action plan, the results of that check (ranks, competitor names, ratings and review counts) are processed by an AI model hosted by our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare, which writes the suggestions. We do not use this information to train models. The plan is a starting point, not a guarantee.
Apple. Payments, purchase verification and device verification go through Apple. We never receive your payment card details.
Cloudflare. Cloudflare hosts the Streetfinch service and its database.
What the results show
The results in the app are public business information: competitor names, ratings, review counts, websites, phone numbers, review topics and the search phrases a website appears for. We pass it along from public sources. We do not add personal information about you to it.
Your location
If you choose the nearby option, Streetfinch asks for your device’s location, uses it on your iPhone to find your business, and does not save it. The precise location of your device is not stored on our servers. You can decline and search by business name and town instead.
The coordinates of the business being checked, and of the search locations around it, are sent to our server and to the search data provider so the check can run. They describe the business, not you.
Automatic checks
Automatic checks are optional and available with Pro. They run on the schedule you set and use your credits. The results reach you as local notifications created on your iPhone. We do not use a push notification service and we do not store push notification tokens.
Apple Maps
The app uses Apple Maps to search for businesses, to look up an address you type and to draw maps. Those searches are sent to Apple and handled under Apple’s privacy policy.
How long we keep information
Our server keeps your credit balance and purchase records, and logs of checks for billing and abuse prevention. Public listing lookups are cached for up to 7 days, and ranking results for a search phrase at a map location may be reused for up to 24 hours. Cached results are stored by phrase and location, not by who asked.
Erasing your data
You can erase your data from our server in the app’s Settings. Your purchases remain tied to your App Store account, so you can still restore them. You can also email [email protected] and ask us to erase it. Erasing server data does not cancel a subscription. You manage subscriptions in your App Store account settings. The businesses and checks saved on your iPhone stay there until you delete them or delete the app.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising. Information is passed to others only to make the app work: a search data provider, Cloudflare as our infrastructure provider, and Apple for purchases and device verification.
